100% agree with your sentiment here. Hobby related FB groups are extremely toxic (and especially car ones) and are mostly full of people asking the same questions repeatedly and getting responses from people who are wrong, or people posting something for sale with people commenting (complaining) on the price.
Forums (like this one) are a great resource, I can't count the amount of threads I've used that detail major repairs or googled the problem I had and found the answer straight away.
I got into VWvortex around 2012 when it was still kinda strong. On the mk4 board, there were people who had kept updating the same car/build thread for over 10years! |
