Thumbs up 1996 Bostongruen solid beater or project or parts car 165k $1450obo

The time has come to end my 6yr relationship with my hatchback. Boston green over sand gray. 5spd. 165,xxx miles. Mechanically very reliable and solid. Cosmetically it's good from far, far from good. I have a 2 week old son and it isn't practical. If I can't sell it as it sits I will part it out, as there's lots of good stuff on it. The original plan for the car was for it to be a weekend auto-x car but circumstances changed and it became my daily again. NOTE: This car has no interior aside from the dash, center console, stock passenger seat, and fixed back corbeau drivers seat with 4pt harness. I have the backseat uppers and lower but all the interior panels got moldy in storage and were falling apart anyway so I junked them. The tailgate creaks a bit. The car was in a collision before I owned it. There are some small dings but no dents aside from a very small one on the drivers fender. The paint is pretty good aside from the leading edge of the hood, where rock chips are taking their toll. The drivers side fender and hood have r-dot tags and the M3 bumper is not original. The passenger side front camber is off, about +.5deg for whatever reason. Never got around to installing camber plates. It's just enough to wear the outer shoulder of the tire. There is a small crack in the body piece above the rear bumper and below the tailgate. It had been repaired with bondo at some point prior to me.

I have all inspection records since I bought the car ('04-'09 aside from '08 when I was deployed) and all but one receipt for services performed by people other than me.

Bill of sale: 4/10/2004, 78,xxx miles, $5,800.

6/04 new motor mounts
11/04 new radiator
12/04 windshield chips repaired (haven't worsened since)
8/05 installed new belt and tensioner
9/05 added 17x8.5" 7-spoke TSW wheels
9/05 installed eccentric poly rear subframe bushings and new front O2 sensor
9/05 installed stock springs shocks and struts from M Roadster and M3 front sway bar links
5/06 new ignition wire set
5/06 new rear shock mounts with reinforcements and replaced all window rail sliders and replaced roundels
9/09 all radiator hoses replaced, cooling system flush and fill; power steering fluid resevoir, cap and gasket, system flush and fill; trans flush and fill, differential flush and fill; fuel system service; new tie rods; guibo replaced; intake hose replaced; new meyle front control arms with offset m3 bushings; new battery

Stuff I did along the way for which I don't have documentation:
Z4 shift lever, which I weighted for smoother shifts, DEPO epsilloids (not the goofy ones, the ones that look like ZKWs) with 5k xtec HIDs and yellow lamin-x, bosal catback exhaust (the one that all the 318.org guys bought when some site had them on closeout), fleabay short ram intake, tsw rims painted black, center caps stolen by some punk, taillight ambers and clears smoked, side markers smoked, foglight hole covers probably stolen by the same punk as my center caps, radio antenna delete, 8lb aluminum flywheel installed in '07 along with a new pressure plate, camshaft position sensor and crankshaft position sensor replaced and fuel filter in '07, maybe '08, blaupunkt front components with a nice (for it's day) pioneer head unit with a busted motorized face (won't eject disc) so audioslaves self-titled album comes with it!

I'm sure there's more that I will think of later. Car comes with a set of 3 stock ten spoke 15" wheels and one steelie with BMW cap with a set of decent snow tires. The rears on the 17 have lots of life left but the fronts are 100% bald and one has a screw in it. Doesn't use or burn any oil, gets good mileage, handles phenomenally, has good power for an m44. I wouldn't hesitate at all to drive it cross country and with no interior, that hatchback fits a metric butt-ton of stuff. Would make a great parts hauler. Almost forgot-drivers window has all new seals and wipes as well as sliders and freshly lubed rails but one of the regulator arms is tweaked and it won't stay on the forward tracks. It hops over the guide onto the track right above the top of the door. You kinda have to guide it.

I'll put up some pics this weekend.

$1450 or best offer, no reasonable offer will offend me. The car is in Norfolk, VA.

PS clean title (hope I can find it)
