Wouldn't a lightweight flywheel accomplish the same thing as a 3.73 diff? I think the flywheel has no downsides, but the 3.73 does. I get torque with the flywheel, but no RPM increase. By installing a 3.45 LSD, I get the traction, but no RPM difference.
3.45 LSD from a 318ti and lightweight flywheel seems the perfect balance.

So figure in 5th, 1k rpm gets you 20mph. The acceleration is noticably better. I'd say about 10 percent increase in accel, and 10 percent decrease in fuel mileage. My top speed is the same as my speed limiter is still there. But I think the theoretical top speed would be about 120-125 or so. As far are the adapters...Those say they're for a 2002 but a kit similar to that would help. I got e30 axles but the tone rings were too big and I destroyed my abs sensors trying to get them out so the axles would clear. |
