Just look up from below, there is a LOT of space between the radiator and the engine.
Just pull the hood and drive it without for transport purposes assuming the radiator is OK and the Power Steering res. You have to get DEEP into the front of a E36 to hurt much else. I've put them back on track and finished races with more outer damage than that...
