Default 1997 318ti M52/S52 swap

For sale is my 1997 318ti, or now a 328ti. I have had this car since 2011 and am the second real owner (private dealer had it between the first owner and myself). It has a clean title, is actually registered as having the 2.8L engine but I never finished the Referee process to get it 100% legal. It had one emission monitor that needed to go green, everything else passed and was good to go, so it was 90% complete!

On the mustang dyno it puts down roughly 190whp or ~219hp (~at 15% drivetrain loss), paired with the 3.46 LSD differential it pulls nicely.

General:
-206,xxx miles on chassis
-Clean Title
-Non-Op (No Fees!)
-Runs!
-Windows work!

Engine (Shop completed swap!):
-Only 10,xxx since swap – drove it for 10k miles as a daily driver.
-M52 block with S52 complete head (cams, springs, retainers etc)
-Completely cleaned s52 head, 3-way valve job,
-New headgasket
-SS braided vanos oil line

Cooling:
-Mishimoto Aluminum Radiator
-Aluminum Thermostat Housing
-SPAL electric fan conversion
-Metal propeller water pump

Trans:
-M3 ZF trans
-Redline MTF fluid
-Stock shifter

Differential:
-3.46 Medium Case 188mm Torsion LSD
-e30 axles
-z3m finned cover
-Ireland Engineering poly diff bushing
-Redline fluid

Brakes:
-300mm vented rotors front (biggest rotors to still fit some 15" wheels)
-e46 front calipers
-Hawk HP+ pads
-Ireland Engineering SS brake lines front and rear
-SuperBlue Dot 4 brake fluid

Suspension/Chassis:
-Front Tein SuperStreet E36 m3 coilovers/camber plates with TC Kline 425lb (?) springs
-Rear H&R 318ti sport springs
-LCA replaced
-Centered E36 M3 LCA lollipop bushings
-Ireland Engineering poly subframe bushings
-Ireland Engineering poly trailing arm bushings
-X-Brace mounting holes – just buy one and bolt it up!

Other:
-Front E36 M3 dove manual Vader seats
-Rear 318ti sport bumper (blue)
-Front E36 M3 rep bumper w/fiberglass "bumper beam" (?)
-Glass Euro E36 headlights w/ city lights (amber bulb)
-Clear Euro corners and side markers

Recently Done:
-New Idle control valve
- 2 New Bosch 02 sensors
-Replaced vacuum lines under intake manifold and some hoses
-Oil dipstick O-ring
-New valve cover gasket
-New PCV (aka CCV/Air Oil Separator)

Included Parts:
-Rear Koni Yellow z3m shocks – needs shock tower mounts to use, but otherwise bolt right in
-Front complete Koni Yellow shocks with 318ti H&R sport springs assembly– shocks are blown
-A/C compressor – everything is there, but it looks like the compressor died so I am including another used one
-Rear dove seats with headrests – only some of the late model 318tis came with headrests for the rear seats so they can be hard to find.

Cons:
-paint is faded
-shocks all around are worn
-rear brakes are worn
-driver side door panel is coming off
-no radio
-no A/C
-It has been driven alot! So there will be tons more little knick-knacks! It will need some TLC!

I am sure I am forgetting things, but this should help give a bit of an idea.

This car will obviously be sold as-is! It has a TON of potential for finishing the REF process and have a fun CARB legal swapped 318ti. The m52+S52 head and 3.46 LSD makes it pull away from stock e36 M3s fairly easily. When I was daily driving it I also saw between 22 – 25MPG.

Remember, the car is far from perfect! It will need some love to get it good again, it was Non-Op so it has been sitting mostly with an occasional drive around the block.

I also have a stack of receipts and all the documents from the REF process so you can finish it if you choose.

Feel free to ask any questions.

Thanks for looking!
