Probably a bad thermostat and/or water pump. Don't let the car overheat, or drive it again until the problem is fixed. Letting the temp gauge get past twelve o'clock, much less getting into the red is a receipt for blowing the headgasket and/or ruining the engine (ask me how I know). If it were mine I would have the car towed to my mechanic. John |
