Ive been thinking the same. I talked to someones who has done it on bimmerforums.com sorry dont remember who. I know it will work but you must take into cansideration the problems with custom fitting it to your car. It shouldnt be that hard and will need little fabrication atleast.
What year is your car? if before 96 its a m42 after 96 m44.
