Same thing happened to me. Mine appeared to be the original and lasted 214k miles so it was adhered in there pretty good. Took me 3 days to remove it. Wound up busting it in half. Once the front half came out I had to use a wire brush and 3m pad to remove the build up so the rest could slide out. The plastic empeller literally crumpled on its way out.
