I removed the old gasket/seal by cutting it on one of the sides. The corners are plastic and so the flange can break easily.
I also applied black weatherstrip adhesive/sealant to all the joints between the plastic corners and the metal sides of the cali roof. And some maintenance on the sliding mechanisms helps the roof slide better, too.
Have fun replacing it. I really love the cali roof and especially now that it does not have any water leaks!
Yes, thanks for the tips! I'll seek to take pictures along the way for folks that follow us. I just repaired my Coupe's sunroof so the Cali is next. Cheers!
