Definitely replace these two pipes preventatively. When they let loose they do so suddenly with resultant engine overheating which can be catastrophic for M-44's. Another tip: ANYTIME your temp guage moves past 12 o'clock, pull over immediately and determine the source of the overheating. Experienced BMW hands will tell you that if you experience sudden coolant loss driving at speed you have only seconds to shut the engine down to avoid a blown head gasket or worse. The reason: all BMW's have aluminum heads and many have aluminum blocks as well. Heat kills aluminum engines. Almost forgot: you can get the pipes' part numbers from realoem on the net.
