Default Removing Ignition Cylinder without key

Hey guys, I'm pretty new here and new to my (early) 1995 318ti. When I bought the car, there were two keys - one for the doors and a valet key for the ignition.

After the valet key stopped turning/moving the ignition, I ordered a new key from the dealer. That key didn't match the ignition key.. So I ordered a new ignition cylinder that matches my VIN/the new key.

In the meantime, my old valet key for the ignition has been misplaced. No idea where it's at. I would love to not have to replace the whole ignition housing, but I am trying to get the old cylinder out so I can put the correct one back in and use a real key.

Any advice on this? I've worked on trying to "jimmy" it forward but it doesn't turn very well with that. Someone has definitely been in before me, as the shear bolts have slots in them, but don't turn at all with the screwdrivers I've been trying.

Thanks in advance for any help!
Doug
