I'm replacing my headliner right now, I purchased the kit at wls head liners.
http://www.headlinerkit.com/bmw/index.shtml I think it cost about $50 for the kit.
It comes with the 3M adhesive, will let you know how it turns out.
Taking it off wasn't too bad, it slides right out the rear hatch.
The hard part is getting all the old glue off of the fiberglass head board. I used my hands to roughly get most of it off. Then I actualy hosed it down and used the pumice/soap with a plastic brush in 20 minutes had it all off.
I'm waiting for it to dry, cut out the new piece from the fabric that was sent, glue it on to the old headliner board and replace.
I noticed the headliner did stick on around the edges to the roof of the car so homefully when I replace it goes back as well.
