Unless the E36 was built after 3/99, it would be a single stage air bag. That was when BMW introduced the Dual Stage airbags.
The one OP has pictured is 100% single stage. Dual stage slip rings are not screwed onto the back of the steering wheel the are screwed onto the top of the steering column with the control like wipers and lights stalks attached directly to the slip ring.
Production of the E36 continued into 1999, so there might be some late models that got the dual stage systems. |
