Hi I'm new to the forum and new to the car.
I bought my 1995 318ti with 92xxx miles in July and I have been loving it so far. I have the automatic(wish I had gotten the manual but I got a good deal
) but I noticed there is a manual switch as well as a 1st 2nd and 3rd gear option.
I have not touched it yet but was wondering if that switch is usable for shifting low gears or if it is more of a utility feature for keeping RPMs high on snow, steep grades etc.
Also what do you guys think about performance upgrades on an automatic transmission?
