I run 0w40 synthetic as we have cold winters and hot summers in Iowa. Running 10w30 should be fine for you, but if you race, do a lot of high speed driving, or any track events, you might want something like 15w50. The thicker the oil, the worse your gas mileage will be, but you will probably see a little less wear. Living in Nashville (in your profile) your winters won't be very cold so you can get by with a thicker oil year round (like 15w50).
