I have my 1997 BMW 318ti 5-speed for sale. First $1000 and you drive it home!
I have owned it for about 4 years. Bought it as a college car and have put less than 20k miles on it in that time. I’m graduating and while it has served me VERY well, it’s time to move on to another car. This one has some life in it or you can drive it home for $1000 and have a great parts car. Tires alone have significant value with 10/32nd even tread all around (~15K miles only).
Mileage: 173,800
Fair condition mechanically. Needs work or great parts car for this price.
Engine starts easily, idles smoothly, and performs well on the road.
PROS:
Runs and handles great still
5-speed… clutch in good condition
New tires (only 15k miles on them) Mastercraft Avengers 205-60R15
Sunroof is operational
A/C blows cold
All electrical works well (except driver window see below)
Ball joints (both lower) and wheel bearings replaced this year
Under-hood condition… good
Undercarriage… good
Crankcase pressure… fair
I have clear title
CONS: (most to least critical)
Frame corrosion including sway-bar mounting… “poor condition”
Body rust… not spreading much in 4 years but across cars (see pics)
Oil leaks… Valve cover gasket and oil pan gasket… “minor, but leaking”
Muffler detached from exhaust pipe
Driver window does not work
Driver side wiper broken off by annoying frat boys!
ACC belt wear… “should be replaced soon”
Interior is quite worn but clean, Leather seat condition is worn, headliner droops a little
