The M44 gear box should get MTF2 oil... Thats a spesial oil made of BMW for BMW!
I used a normal oil like Royal Purple Synchromax i think, at first... Then it started beein more and more rough... so i went to the BMW workshop I worked at and bought 1,5l of MTF2 ( Manual Transmittion Fluid v2... its a upgrade of MTF1 thats not sold anymore )... After draining out the gearfluid that was already on (not old fluid) and filled up with MTF2, I took a short drive, and It was smooth again!
Yeah, on manual its just to drain it off, and refill the new fluid... I think the Autos got a filter...
Edit, the M44 gear box just need 1,2L of gear oil i think, not sure... but its not more than 2L thats for sure! |
