okay for the first time in my long history of working on cars... this one may go to the dealer/"german car specialist"..or at least someone with proper diagnostic equipment.
i have family coming in for the weekend and don't have anymore time to waste on it..and 145 views with no suggestions here is definitely not shedding any new light.
tempted to just park it and buy something else to drive and finally drop in the 2jzgte i've been sitting on for years now.
