You need to measure the backlash of the gears before the swap, then try to achieve the same amount after swapping the ring gear onto the LSD. You should also check the wear pattern on the teeth. Don't touch the pinion gear. If you do you will be in for a rude awakening when you try to get the gears set up.
this is true, reason the gear is no longer on this lsd, i got this lsd with the new gear set after i put the first lsd in.. i just kinda threw it in and eyeballed the backlash haha it went good for quite a while.. but yeah if u look online u can find how to's on how to set n shim the gears proper.. its really not a hard job, i can have the whole rear out in half an hour n back in within one...
