If the motor is spinning and the roof is not moving, it is likely the gears but you may have missed out if they are no longer available.
The same gears were also used on the VW Polo model not sure what years.
My buddy has a whole top for sale with the motor gear assembly but not sure if he will part the motor from the top.
You can try taking the geas apart and flip one over to get some more use but make sure the top is cleaned and lubricated so it moves freely.
Too much force is what causes the gears to fail in the first place. There is no built in limit switches in this model so you have to release the button as soon as the travel stops. __________________
