Some update:
I was trying to get the temperature sensor to work with the "E46 type" cluster, however even pulling out the cable from temperature sensor causes the gauge to get into "hot" position, installing resistor does not help either. I have tried 56k ohm and it still gets into "hot" position same goes for just closing the circut with screwdriver. On the old (95') instrument cluster closing the circut does not make gauge go into "hot" position. Resistors are also not working. The gauge is all the time in "cold" position. I am running out of ideas, looks like every E36 compact produced 99-00 with M43TU engine is just using E46 electronics that is not compatibile with M44/42 engines. After plugging in the computer, the ASC driver is reporting CAN bus error so my ASC is not working either. |
