My son and I just repaired his heater control light, which had burned out. When I saw that it required a "BMW" bulb with built in holder, I was not amused. I took pliers and pulled the bulb straight out of the bulb holder. Looking inside I saw two leads, took a T5 LED, bent the leads for the T5 out to match the holders leads...pushed the T5 in firmly...and it works great! Very bright, and I doubt we will have to replace it again. I had several of the T5 LEDs for dash replacement which I had ordered from Amazon, at the time they were less than a dollar each.
