ahh, I see that the pics have now been switched. That makes more sense now. The thing that your arrow is pointing to is your washer fluid resivoir. That has nothing to do with your engine. That can be bone dry and you can drive for months without any problems other than a dirty windshield. The circled area where water is in your new pic 1 probably has coolant hoses running nearby that you need to inspect for leaks. I'm still learning about the m44's but most cars have some sort of throttle body or intake manifold heater. I'd start my search by looking at the hoses to that.
