The more digging I do the more confused I get. Below is an image of three rear springs. The left spring is allegedly from a 328is with the "sport" suspension (I think it is just a regular 328 spring and is not the sport). The middle spring is allegedly from a regular 325 (I got these used and they came with the front springs which are too small, so I think they must actually be from an M3). The right spring is the H&R lowering spring for the 318ti.

I think the H&R was the softest, but I opted for the middle spring as I read that these cars handle better on road and off with a really high rear spring rate.

I did find it odd that the coils for what I believe are the m3 springs, are closest in appearance to the H&R 318ti springs, where as the 328is springs have more coils and are taller. The car seems to have just a little rake, but no where near as bad as when I was running the flattened 4cyl H&R springs in the front.
