Don't mean to bag on anyones post trying to help but don't change the sensor unless it is bad. Also the head is aluminum so no Magnaflux since you can't magnitize a BMW head or any other aluminum part. Take it to a rep shop and have the old dye job to show any cracks. I'm sure if it is a good shop they will do the dye and lightly mill the head to ensure it is dead nutz flat plus a valve job before they return it to you.
