it is pretty much work. you need to install a clutch pedal, and run the wires. you need to set up the shifter area, and get the shifter with all its parts.

i am not sure if you can ever really get the clutch installed right, since the wires on the car are different. 5sp cars can not be started without the clutch engaged, so safety wise, it is alittle more dangerous. you (or someone else) could turn the key and start the car while it is in gear, allowing it to drive off. (unless you do your own clutch install with a relay to disable the ignition, but that would be a pain)

by the time you do all that, even if you do it yourself, you would have been better off with buying a 5sp. it is not impossible, but def hard.

it is up to you. i would say look for a cheap 5sp. you can find them all the time. if you are okay with bad motors (which it seems like you are) and can do the swap, why not wait for a blown motor with a 5sp trans to show up for like $800, and do the motor swap to that car.
