John... I lurk on whoretex often & a lot of those boys go megasquirt way.
Not sure if all I hear is good.

Just type 'megasquirt' and some stuff will pop up... but if you go to individual model forums I'm sure you can get more.

Well I've decided I'm going to need a stand-alone to tune this correctly. It's going to be a TEC-GT or a MegaSquirt integrated onto the Motronic M5.2 DME. Both have good and bad.

TEC-GT ~ Good: better tuning, user friendly and it's a TEC. Bad: price way more then I want to spend, not plug and play for M44, A/C control?, OEM Gauges?, OEM sensors? Does not retain any OEM functions.

MegaSquirt/integrated M5.2 ~ Bad: Harder to tune, not as many options as the TEC. Heard not reliable for long drives, burns out parts. Good: Cheep price, Plug and Play, uses all BMW sensors, all gauges work, A/C controls normal, CEL works, DISA works, retains most OEM functions but adds unlimited DIY tuning (just what I need)

I think I'm going MegaSquirt with ignition drivers if I'm able to graft one into the stock DME
