To answer #1, see #2.
#2, the ti was not marketed very well in the US. It has has been a success elsewhere. The ti was an entry level car. Maybe too entry level for some 'mericans.
#3, that is a common problem.

#4, the ti shares the same things from the B pillar forward. The rear suspension is antiquated compared to the 318i and 318is but that more fun. See #1 again.
