blue in the above pic the tie rods appear parallel to the control arms? maybe if the rack came up half an inch it would create a downward angle on the tie rods, making the tie rods "perfectly parallel" to the control arms.
but i do agree with adding additional support to the rack. the x-brace and strut tower brace are definitely good ideas too.
