Does your trunk light still work? I believe it's on F33.

If it does and I had take a very wild guess, I could imagine there was a short downsteam of the light switch contacts (pin 7 -> pin 1) that previously blew F33, someone replaced it with the 15A fuse, the short reappeared or another happened, and it has now burnt off the switch contacts.

F33 should be 10A to protect some 0.5 mm^2 wiring. The Bosch automotive handbook, 25th edition, recommends 7.5A but BMW may have used 10A to avoid nuisance tripping.
