Default 1997 BMW 318ti For Sale - $3500 obo - Chicago Area

Hello, I have my 97 BMW 318ti for sale. I'm in Aurora, IL, about 45 minutes west of Chicago.

The car is in overall good conditions. I'm the third owner of the car, and I bought it from a family friend when it had 73,000 miles. It was used by my wife the whole time I've had it. It is an automatic 1997 BMW 318ti with 98,700 miles. I have kept up with the maintenance on the car, and switched to synthetic oil about 10,000 miles ago.

The good:
- Low miles for year (98,700)
- Has sunroof, power windows, power locks, and on-board computer which gives outside temp, mpg's, miles to empty, avg. speed, etc. (pretty neat)
- Adult driven all its life (family friend and then my wife)
- Car slept in a garage all its life (until my wife got a newer car 1 week ago)
- Engine runs strong and transmission shifts smoothly
- Front brakes done about 1 year ago, rear brakes done about 5 months ago, all pads have Autozone lifetime warranty (have receipts)
- New battery installed less than a year ago, still has warranty (have receipt)
- Front suspension overhauled this past summer (control arms w/ ball joints, links, tie rods, etc.), the only parts of the front suspension not replaced were the shocks (have receipts)
Car was aligned two weeks ago at Sears, has a 6 month warranty (have receipt)

Everything you should know:
- Radio lights up but doesn't work. It's a cassette radio so you have a good excuse to upgrade.
- Two front tires need replacing, they wore unevenly due to worn suspension (all suspension parts replaced as stated above). They will probably last another year but produce an annoying wheel vibration at highway speeds only. When the tires are replaced, the wheel vibration will stop.
- Front drivers side fender has a dent (car was hit while parked in an apartment parking lot, no one ever owned up to it)
- When it's cold outside, the car sometimes starts up roughly, with a rough idle for less than a minute, then the idle stabilizes and everything goes back to normal. I've searched on forums and found this may be due to small hose cracks in lines for the secondary air injection system, but I never bothered to try to track it down because the car slept in the garage and this rarely happened. Car never stalled due to this, and always starts right up.

I've tried to list everything I could, but I'd be happy to answer any questions. You can call or text me at seven-8-7-four-tree-O-eight-too-one-eight. Feel free to also email me.

Thanks!
