I put an M Roadster and 318ti subframe next to one another and examined the differences.

The mounts for the trailing arms are gusseted a little more on the M roadster.

Also, if you look through the hole in the center (bottom side) of the subframe, the M roadster has an extra reinforcement bar (think "c" channel) inside it for added strength.

I was going to sell my M roadster subframe until I saw that it is in fact beefier.

Instead, I strip the roadster frame and por15'd it. Going in sometime this or next week with the rest of the M roadster goodies!

Also worth noting, you have to use your brake lines from the ti and mount them to the M trailing arms.
