Default M44 Stroker Questions

I'm hoping there are a few on here with experience building a stroker from the M44 that can answer a couple questions for me in my quest for a stroker. A couple years ago I came across a few M42 stroker builds using a the M47d20 crank and it seemed like the ideal path for more power on my 'ti. I managed to snatch up a nice M47 crank for a good price back then and have recently pulled my engine due to some other work and decided to start into this stroker build while it is out.

First question, how have people managed the front crank position sensor on the M44? I happen to have an early M44 with the 60/2 harmonic damper on the front, so sourcing that isn't an issue. I have seen people create brackets for the sensor, which I can do, it is the alignment which I'm confused about. Does the wheel need to "clocked" on the front of the engine to align with the same degree offset as the stock trigger wheel on the M44 crank or if the sensor is positioned appropriately for to hit TDC when the skipped teeth pass by is it good? I think this essentially boils down to, does the ECU have the trigger wheel notch hardcoded in for TDC, or does it re-initialize this TDC timing with each start of the engine?

Second question, does anyone know a good source for a S50B30 euro piston from Mahle? This is my preferred choice in piston for the build, so I'm trying hard to find it with no luck so far.
