The reasons they can sell for such high prices - 1. local demand (general USA has higher demand recently for high gas mileage cars) 2. KBB is not realistic when valuing the 318ti 3. added upgrades (a lot on here sell for >8k because they have desirable parts such as M-tech panels/bumpers/etc., audio equipment, coilovers, etc. The sunroof is almost negligible in weight added, perhaps a few leak, but I don't remember it being such a big problem with others, and I don't think headroom is compromised at all with it. I paid $6,300 + taxes for my 1998 active, the dealer wanted $7,700 and if I couldn't haggle lower than that I still would have bought it. The 36-40 mpg is the deal maker. |
