I had a spare dme flashed with a tune from midnight so that I could do the same thing. As far as I'm aware, the M44 cars had two different DME revisions. If you look at the part numbers you should see a 667 or 668 as the last three digits. You need to make sure the spare dme you buy is the same as what is currently in your car.
