Bimmer7,

I have a S50USB30 conversion running Schrick cams, 24# injectors, and the required Conforti software. Turner Motorsports did the install, along with new retainers. They dyno'd the car before and after the cams and I picked up 10rwhp. It's not as much as I had hoped for, but Turner compared this to their database of other cars dyno'd on their Dynapack and it was on par with what was to be expected. I immediately noticed that the car pulled harder at higher rpms and the exhaust note was much more agressive, even at idle. Was it worth it? Prob not if you are looking for pure HP gains. For that, I would look into FI, but i was looking to build a solid NA motor with close to 300 crank HP (285-290 now). To get there, I need some head work and probably headers. Sunbelt cams seem to be all the rage now, but it's new and unproven. Hard to see how they can claim a stock motor reving to 7500 rpm safely just with cams. Plus, I will have to pass CA smog, which Schricks have been able to do, but I could not be sure with Sunbelts.

Pros: a little more power and better breathing at high rpms, better sound, definitely needed for the "ultimate" NA motor

Cons: Mostly the cost, some of which you recoupe from selling your old cams
