There are guys using Motec or other standalone systems to put the rotary in other cars, its a Bi$$$ to get working right.

I raced a rotary NA in a rx3 in ITA for a couple years. Reliable at ITA build limits but ate too much fuel for the HP and was loud.

Normally you isolate the wiring harness between engine/cluster and then the rest of the car. The pain is the little computer boxes that run the accessories like the headlights, dome lights etc.

If I was tangling with this I'd gut the cars wiring and wire the chassis form scratch to get rid of all the silly ladder logic BMW uses to control stuff.

Painless wiring harness for a hotrod to replace all the BMW wiring for lights heat and such.
