3D printing isn't strong enough. We tried it. When they say they print in metal, they mean 90% plastic with microscopic flakes of metal in it. 3D printing is great for some things but it can't produce this gear. The teeth are too small and get eaten up by the metal worm gear in minutes. We tried variois materials and print techniques with no luck.

Injection mold is just the highest quality way way we can produce these gears.
