The result is lower spark voltage but higher spark current with a Bosch than an NGK. assuming the same gap. So typically you run the narrow side of the gap with a bosch and wide end of the spec with NGK. I've found in the same engine I need about .005 less gap on the bosch vs the NGK. This likely varies depending on the motors ignition system. I'm using the NGKs with Magnecor 8mm blue wires and it runs smooth. Used the NGKs after reading some old posts from this board. __________________ 318Ti Sport (Gone, but thanks for your years of service) | M3 E30 | 190E-16V | M Coupe E36/8 | | | 03-18-2005, 03:05 AM | #10 | Senior Member Join Date: Oct 2003 Location: Wilmington, NC Posts: 641 | wow autom3otives, your e30 //M is siiiiick! -chris __________________ 18'' Ace Wheels Pirelli P7000 SS Tires Bosal Brospeed Exhaust B&M Short Throw Kit H&R Sport Springs Euro Clears cat delete Rogue Engineering Clutch Stop Modded Airbox blacked out kidney grilles Suede Headliner/A Pillars S52 CONVERSION UNDERWAY | | | 03-19-2005, 01:38 AM | #11 | aka Stabby Join Date: Nov 2004 Location: Mead, CO Posts: 5,336 | here are the part #s bimmerparts.com lists for my 1996 (i would imagine it would be the same for others): Bosch F 7 LDCR ($4.32/ea) NGK BKR 6 EK ($4.81/ea) don't believe platinums should be used. some possible related reading material: http://www.unofficialbmw.com/e36/eng..._problems.html http://www.unofficialbmw.com/e36/eng...ark_plugs.html __________________ 1996 318ti, California package, 267k miles current mods: bilstein sports, bavauto springs, e30 m3 LCABs, solid metal ball joints, bavauto RSMs w/reinforcements, e30 3.73 LSD & halfshafts, supersprint cat-back exhaust, turner rear sway bar reinforcements, IE poly subframe & RTABs + camber/toe kits, powdercoated e36 32x front calipers, sport mirrors, H&R 28mmF/19mmR sway bars, x-brace, auto solutions SSK w/poly bushing upgrade, BMW CD43 head unit, DICE HD Radio w/iPod integration and "stealth" HD antenna, staggered style 68s, orange electronic TPMS, leather arm rest, JT Designs metal undertray acquired and awaiting install: heated seat kit, cali top switch relo, lumbar support kit, park distance control kit, heated washer nozzle kit, m-coupe rear subframe, trailing arms, differential, and halfshafts, m-coupe front/rear brakes with master cylinder, under hood light kit, mud flaps, rear sun blind, auto-dimming rear view mirror, tilt steering wheel retrofit, apexcone 5000K HIDs with 55W ballasts 2002 X5 4.4 Sport Package, 53.5k miles Current Mods: e46 m3 steering wheel | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
