How goes it all.

I'm new to this site but have had a 318ti and a 325ti when I lived in the UK and now have another 318ti over here in sunny Queensland.

My cars have all been 2002 models as I used to work at BMW in the UK as a sparkie ( fixing the machines that built the engines ) at the engine plant near Birmingham, Hams Hall.

I have owned my current 318ti 2002 model for over a year now and all of a sudden the air con does not give me any cold air, says its working but alas it is not keeping me cool in the hot Australian heat. I did recently get a service done at Brisbane BMW and since then the air con has stopped chilling.

If anyone knows of a possible easy fix or what to look for please let me know as if I take it back they will only charge me a small fortune to look at it.

Thanks in advance

most of us don't have the E46 318ti's since they were never sold in the US, so information isn't very plentiful on here

welcome anyways, post some pics up

Pickle, If the A/C stopped working after your trip to the dealer, make them fix it on their dollar.

Tried that one but they will charge me big dollar and deny any blame for the problem. I can't prove it was them as the dealer trip was 2 weeks ago.

I called them today and they would love to take a look for $300 they will even re charge it. So nice of them.

I will check the air con pump clutch, I've been told this should click in and out as the air con is turned on and off. Looks like its right at the base of the engine tho.
