Default And it's official!!!

Hey there guys and gals!!! Just thought I'd introduce myself. I'm a new member as of early this month and have been on the prowl for a ti to call my own. I'm happy to say that as of this morning I've become the proud owner of a beauty that I've deemed "Nikki Mae".... 1997 318ti base model that is bone stock less the wheels and tires that came off a 2003 325i. I can't tell you how excited I am to finally have her in my garage!!! You all may or may not have seen her around, but if you haven't, I've attached only one gratuitous photo, from my cell phone none the less. It appears that the high res photos that were here on the forum have been removed. But to sum it up, less a few minor flaws throughout, she is in phenomenal shape. A couple cluster bulbs, glove box handle, rear drivers panel needs one tab re-glued, a good overall cleaning and shampooing, and besides that, GREAT shape. As soon as I'm able I'll post more photos, but for now, this is all I got.

I'm very pleased to be a part of the forum and look forward to sharing all of my future ventures and projects with you all!!!

Congrats on finding a great looking ti. How many miles on her and how much, if you don't mind?

I just got done doing a 4 hour cleaning on my interior. I took the interior apart and rented the rug doctor. Hard work but well worth the effort. Tomorrow comes the exterior.

Do you plan on any modifications or keeping her stock? What is the color code? I really like it!!

Thank you!! She has just over 116000 on the clock. Final price was $5400. I think it was a lot to pay (keep in mind, 1. I'm very new to the going rates of the ti, 2. I'm in Cali, and 3. I'm just the kind of guy that is always wanting to get it cheaper... so FWIW) BUT I am pleased with the purchase, and I think that's what matters. Color is "calypsorot metallic", and it is pretty deceiving as I've seen 3 shades in it already in different environments. I like it too. As for mods, that was a big reason for choosing to purchase a ti but I do have to admit that the condition of the car is really having me consider keeping it stock. I'll take some time to consider, but I truly already want to upgrade the suspension components. It does feel quite soft, but maybe just a suspension refresh could do the trick on that. Who knows how I'll feel later tho...

As for now, she will be my part time daily driver (along with my Hayabusa) and I'll just have to see what the coming weeks do for me.

Thanx!!! And MANUAL!!!! Passed on several others to make sure of that!!!

That brings me to something that is slightly off topic, but is a "transmission" reference...

I like your thinking! Sticks are for the purist. I know there are some that can not drive them for physical reasons, that's fine, but, if you are able, it is the way to go...

It looks very nice and clean... Looks like you did the right thing by waiting for the right car to come along.
