He has a thorough write up of what is involved. My car has it and it's nice to have extra info on your engine's vitals. I even made my own panel out of carbon fiber. If you don't have a dremel tool, get one now. It will cut everything! | | | 10-01-2004, 04:22 AM | #3 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2004 Location: Manassas, VA Posts: 4,129 | VDO Guages I have a volt/oil press/oil temp setup that I was using in my Scirocco. I read the details from one other guy on how to put them in. The hardest part is getting it cut right to fit the lighter/ashtray mount. I'm gonna take the guages out of my decommissioned VDub, and see what can be done. Quote: Originally Posted by schussey Anybody have them? Hard to hook up? Take a look at my pics. http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/bmw320ti/ You will need to sign-in, it only takes a second. Then go to the photo section. My folder is called Dusten. It seems yours have a self enclosed back, and mine are designed to use a flush mount. I just bought the leather armrest that was an option for the car. When I install the bottom moulding that fits between the seats and emergency brake, I will cut out a hole to mount the cigarrete lighter socket. Then I relocate the alarm L.E.D. After that, the black plastic insert can be removed. I figure that will give me more space to put junk in, until I design the gauge panel.
