Default 318ti Heat / Air Legends & Control Spins (No Floor Heat)

I have two separate issues..

First, does anyone know where I can get just the legend for the AC/Heat controls? The three dials on mine are missing their overlays that label the individual settings.

Second, the control for dash vents / floor heat / defogger spins a full 360* and only really has two settings.. 100% dash air and 100% defogger. The setting for the floor vents just seems to be.. missing.. whats the deal there? A disconnected control line?

I believe the part you're referring to is the HVAC panel. Part number 64118367667 $19.44 @ getbmwparts.com

For future reference, you can find any part number and cross-reference compatibility on realoem.com. Just plug in the last 7 digits of your VIN and you'll have access to illustrations and part numbers for your particular car. I recommend typing in your VIN, then creating a shortcut to your desktop. Makes looking up parts quick and easy.

In regards to your spinning knob, the cable may have came loose on the back of the panel. Here's some pics that should help:

There's another issue regarding the temperature control, but this is for the cable that goes to the heater box:

Jess, thanks for the realoem link. I've used it before but wasn't having much luck with finding that particular diagram.

As far as the spinning knob goes, I've read that TSB but I thought it pertained only to the temperature control. I take it the other controls on the panel have the same issue also? I find it odd that it will switch between defogger and dash vents but not the floor vents. (I was thinking that perhaps it was disconnected at the actual floor vent valve and was hoping someone else had experienced the same issue).

Ric

Edit: Aha! I see.. (BOWDEN CABLE LEG-ROOM) the leg control is a separate cable and is probably the one disco'ed. thx!
