Default New to 318ti.org

Right at first: Thank you for your brilliant knowhow and all the support you are giving to people throughout the world!

Hi, i am from munich/bavaria/germany, where every ti has been built! Got mine from my mom, she passed away this year and left me her 318ti M44B19 - 10 years of age, and only 20.000 miles so far. a true woman's car so far...
Until now, i took care of oil, spark plugs and the usual stuff you should take care of when taking over a car and loving it, swapped the springs to Eibach ProKit 30/30mm drop as well as adding a sparco strut bar.
My ti is black/black, full leather and with all the toys from a/c to soundsystem (added a sub the first week ), heated seats etc.. I got the cross-spoke 42 rims that are seen on the 323ti very often, 16 inches- lov'em.
I hope to keep this car for a long time, as it is in brilliant condition (thanks mom for only using it to get to the mall once a week) and pulling so damn sweet. As we do not have any speed limits here in germany, i enjoy every day and every ride through the hills of bavaria!

Cheers,
neoP

thanks to everybody for the kind words, i guess everyone in our family is happy that it is over - 2,5 years of cancer f**k up everyone's life involved. So it was a relief for everyone, especially her!
Photos are to come, but winter is the badest season we have for shooting photos - we are half an hour from the skiing areas here!!
So, in Spring it will be polished deeply and shots posted. But: it is simply a black ti, that looks like fresh from the factory. So don't expect something extraordinary - though i have to admit that cars with through and through black interiour that are clean and without any damage look simply amazing.
I guess the e36 compact and the e38 7series will always be the best bmw's ever built. What i love is the long looks of the wheelbase and the short overhangs (sorry if i am using the wrong words... not my mother tounge!), not to mention the gokart-feeling. But, here in munich, the e36 is one of the most frequent cars you'll see when riding around. though, the really clean and taken-care-of models are getting damn few!!

Okay, only for you guys - and thanks for the nice words - here a before/after photo from the spring-swap to Eibach ProKit:

this is the night view, from the back of the car, you can see the armrest in the middle, and then... below the a/c-control... my "i-am-so-proud-of" GPS-installation that blends into the whole interiour so damn great...

the case is not painted yet, the silver border will become black, so it looks like absolute stock, see here:

Same will be happening to the control of my nokia-carkit bluetooth handsfree, which you can see on "above" the drivers side window-openers.

i guess the best thing ever invented is the bluetooth function on cellphones. i get in, it just makes "beep" and my cellphone's connected. Other way round when i leave the car... So cool. And i love the "PHONE"-Text in my stereo-display
I had a 5 series with the i drive, and i can tell you, for sure: The safest way to use your phone is to hold it in your hand and dial/use the menu/do whatever and have all the audio via bluetooth, because that way, you are most familiar and fast with the dialling and stuff. Dialling a Number with the idrive or even the touchscreen of my GPS takes 100x times longer and is a pain!
Your cellphone is the gear you are most familiar with when it comes to entering numbers or using other buttons, due to your daily affirmation with that device.
i answer calls with the button of the remote i have aside my gear-lever, and end them that way. for dialling, i grab my phone from behind the GPS (where you can lay some stuff, "behind" the ash-tray) and do it all blind; no problem as everyone does that with its phone after hey used it for a few days. And, the nokia carkits are quite cheap (130$) and have excellent audio through that separate, voice-orientated speaker that i have below my steering column. The blackbox is right under the steering column's cover and very small. Microphone up on the a-pillar... a charm.
