I am a first time owner of a 1995 318ti. I intend to do it up a bit sometime later, like a respray and a weather stripping, and some other small bits probably. I am glad to have found a dedicated website to this particular model, hope to learn more from all the members here. | | | 05-01-2014, 05:50 AM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2012 Location: Sacramento, CA Posts: 2,451 | Welcome! Not sure if it would cover Japanese versions, but it's worth a try. It may list your engine type. __________________ 1998 318ti Sport - "Cali" Schwartz II/Schwartz sport interior, Cali top 1998 318ti Sport - "Max" Schwartz II/Schwartz sport interior, S52 1997 318ti Sport - "Tiny" Schwartz II/Schwartz sport interior 1995 318ti Active - "Blanca" Alpineweib III/Schwartz leather interior Other Current Bimmers: 2006 530i / 2000 2.3L Z3 / 1997 1.9L Z3 / 1999 540it 1997 318ti Sport - "Huera" - RIP 1995 318ti Active - RIP 1995 318ti Sport - "Tiny" Sold 1994 325i Sedan - "Jade" - Sold 1991 318ic - "Bert" - Sold 1985 635csi sold 1984 533i "Max" Sold 1984 318i sold BMWCCA #160411 SUPPORT 318ti.org! Do you think this website will also allow to find out the part no. of the window motor? My left window does not work and I presume it is the motor which needs to be replaced. I have found a seller who has the part, but he needs to know the part no. And I am no ace at opening my door panel to find this out. Please let me know. Thank you! | You're going to like this site and RealOEM! So, if the RealOEM website recognizes your Vin #, then you should be able to identify your part #. Don't know if Japanese models show up in the US or Euro tables, but I suspect it's in one of them. As far as door repair, the search function will be your friend on this site for questions and repairs. From the main forum page, try the search function as likely many of the question you may have will have been asked and answered many times before. If you've searched and can't locate an answer, ask. So, one question I will ask you is do you know the condition and age of your cooling system? That is one fairly important and common failure area that can be expensive if it fails on you. That is a preventive maintenance that is very much worth the cost of parts. You'll find instruction on this site on what and how to change. I don't know how handy you are, but it's not so hard of a change. Good luck moving forward! __________________ 1998 318ti Sport - "Cali" Schwartz II/Schwartz sport interior, Cali top 1998 318ti Sport - "Max" Schwartz II/Schwartz sport interior, S52 1997 318ti Sport - "Tiny" Schwartz II/Schwartz sport interior 1995 318ti Active - "Blanca" Alpineweib III/Schwartz leather interior Other Current Bimmers: 2006 530i / 2000 2.3L Z3 / 1997 1.9L Z3 / 1999 540it 1997 318ti Sport - "Huera" - RIP 1995 318ti Active - RIP 1995 318ti Sport - "Tiny" Sold 1994 325i Sedan - "Jade" - Sold 1991 318ic - "Bert" - Sold 1985 635csi sold 1984 533i "Max" Sold 1984 318i sold BMWCCA #160411 SUPPORT 318ti.org! Good luck moving forward! | Thanks @BlackBMWs for this information about the VIN, Yes I have already been using the search tool on this website for answers and have been finding a lot of information that I have been looking for. As for the cooling system, I have absolutely no idea, all I can say is the car does not overheat or anything and theres no leaks from the radiator. Do you ask me this because of the age of the car or is it a problem related to tis? As for handy, I know nothing but am willing to learn. I have to yet buy myself some tools. I have arrived here only in Feb and have bought this car about a month ago. I intend to start with changing the oil and filter myself and move from there. Eventually changing all fluids. The engine oil life indicator is on its last 2 lights, but I dont intend to wait, I just want to put some fresh oil into it. As soon as I can. I'm a student here in New Zealand and I am currently waiting to get paid from my parttime job, I intend to spend some of my earnings on my car, hence the wait. | | | 05-01-2014, 10:01 PM | #10 | Junior Member Join Date: May 2014 Location: New Zealand Posts: 9 | Thank you @teetime4one & @lazoh | | | 05-02-2014, 02:00 AM | #11 | Junior Member Join Date: May 2014 Location: New Zealand Posts: 9 | Quote: Originally Posted by BlackBMWs You're going to like this site and RealOEM! You Have Selected: 09/1995 E36 318ti Compact M42 Europe Right hand drive Automatic Production Code: CG62 I then clicked on Browse Parts, but I do not know what category I should click on to drill down to the window motor. | | | 05-02-2014, 02:03 AM | #12 | Junior Member Join Date: May 2014 Location: New Zealand Posts: 9 | @BlackBMWs I have found it, under BODYWORK > DOOR, FRONT But I dont see the window motor mentioned in here, am I doing something wrong? Do you recommend I have the cooling system checked? Or is it something I can do myself? | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
