My Vaders are neither. What am I looking at to make something like that work w/o chopping up the wiring harness? As an alternative- does any of the So. Cal. crew know of a place in So. Cal. that fixes seats? The back of my driver's side seat is bent such that one sits kind of crooked in the seat. No likey. | | | 01-15-2011, 08:27 AM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: May 2007 Location: LA, Bellflower, CA Posts: 3,613 | hmm... its gonna be a pain to wire that up. you would have to get the kit for the heating part with relay. Too bad they weren't manual or else i'd trade you because i already have the wiring for the heated seats from factory. my vaders don't have the heating ability. :/ i'm not sure how extensive the wiring is for the electric part. have you tried to take the seats down to a shop to see if they can fix the bending? it might run you an arm. Maybe we can trade the cusion parts that have the heated ability? __________________ -Theta Chi- Float like a cadilac, sting like a BIMMER .... my socket is just too thick and won't fit in the hole! damnit! For me, the heater is less critical- I mean, it was 83* here yesterday in the middle of January- but the seat adjustability would have to work. Other than the drivers' side bolster, they appear to be in pretty good shape and as long as the electronics are functional and the seat backs aren't bent like mine, it seems like a decent price. Unfortunately for you, they are Dove Gray and not black, but if anyone else in So. Cal. is looking for Vaders... http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum....php?t=1588007 | | | 01-24-2011, 07:30 AM | #4 | Senior Member Join Date: May 2009 Location: Orange County, CA Posts: 2,019 | It's Pretty easy to wire up guys, Zoner if you need help wiring lemme know. I looked under the ones I have now and there are no power leads on the floor, and no #5 fuse. | | | 07-07-2012, 08:35 AM | #8 | Member Join Date: Feb 2010 Location: Wichita, Ks Posts: 86 | im in the same pickle as well, i have mech vaders with heated seats, but i have no clue where to start wiring them in, nor do i have any idea if i have the harnesses already in my car (my car had an interior replacement before i bought it) and the wiring diagrams in my bently for the e36 cars is basicly useless because that manual is about 85% reg car (non ti cars) and 15% ti cars...if that, so no luck with anything there __________________ '74 2002ti (Departed) '82 320is (Departed) '87 535i (+360k Departed :'( ) '88 535is (200k en-route to being reitred) '98 318ti (150k Active) '04 330ci (Newest Member) | | | 07-08-2012, 02:27 AM | #9 | Junior Member Join Date: Oct 2005 Location: California Posts: 23 | Quote: Originally Posted by wrightcn hi, could you tell me what you went through installing power seats. i am trying to decide if i want to p/u this cheap set of e36 sport seats which i like better than stock ti seats and they are way more common ie, "less expensive than some decent m-tech sport seats. thanks, tom | Did you ever succeed in installing the power seats? | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
