BMW E36/5 318Ti Sport M-Tech 1995 M42 Hellrote Hi, recently joined the forum having bought a "young" E36/5 318Ti M42. Young as having only 84.400 kms on the clock. Didn't move much the last 7 years, was owned by a grand-pa, his daughter let it go as she didn't know what to do with it. My first Bimmer was a 1974 2002 Touring 5 speed 100 HP; wayback in the 80s. I may feel some potential with this car, waiting for a few parts to start off with, front wheel bearings, clutch, tyres, thermostat. Having a forged crankshaft this car appeals me whatever everybody would say nowadays :-) In the seventies, eighties, nineties I could do rallying with not much than 100 Hp, and having great fun, I may pilot if need be. I had a few years ago a 330 E46; you may not drive the way I know those cars nowadays in Europe, the cops are too much after us, even I am far to be dangerous on the road... So fine for me to have a different car I may prepare without breaking too easily the rules on the road. I am not the kind of guy as we see quite often nowadays, buy a car, use it a little bit just to pretend I know it, try to make a profit in selling it... I use my car everyday, put big mileage on it and make it nice for me so it delivers every time I wake it up ! So I will come back to you in a short time for your advices :-) Cheers and a nice festive season. |
