Cool DFW Texas BMW DIY guy.

Hello All,
I am writing this post as an introduction to this community.
I am 40 years old and have recently picked up the hobby of building BMWs .
I own or have owned the following BMWs
1996 BMW z3 1.9 M44 engine Getrag 5 tranny (thrilled with this car)
1995 BMW 318ti M42 engine automatic (in the build process)
2001 BMW 740il 4.4 v8
1991 BMW 745il (this was before my hobby of mechanics so not alot of detail to this one)

the work i have done centers mostly on the m44 m42 engines.
I have rebuild heads along with head gaskets and the top end stuff, valves springs cams floaters, cooling systems (the infamous overheating issues from plastic parts !) heater cores hoses oil changes clutches etc.

Things i want to do.
turbo t3/t4 hybrid (worried about the psi so willing to keep it under 8psi for stock engine, or upgrade the engine components to handle the stresses for the full 25 psi available for that turbo)
willing to look at supercharger solutions as well but DASC is no more so not sure of a economical system that provides this option.

coilovers
stance with wider back tires
Spec stage 3+ clutch and lightweight aluminum flywheel (for increase in HP output from the performance upgrades)
electric flow cutouts to skip cats from the drivers compartment
tuning real time (looking into this solution heavily I = Programmer) I want to change my fuel mapping on the fly and move the power curve depending on my current driving profile i.e highway long haul want to save gas but in city i want to be a line start car
drilled and ported rotors ceramic or semi ceramic breaks
hard top.
wifi hotspot
and an array of lighting that most BMW guys shun but hey im a flashy guy so why not some glow lights !!!

so other than the introduction here with who i am and what i want to use this site to accomplish i welcome any info critique or advice anyone would like to post short of dump the 4 cylinder for a 6 which if i wanted a 6 i would just buy the car like that. the M42/4 engines are super awesome short of the starter location which i will complain about later.

Welcome Texas Dude! You are in good company. Looking forward to pic of your cars. Perhaps we can trade notes on M44 rebuilds. Cheers!
