I originally had not planned on purchasing a ti but rather a 325is with a 5 speed. No opportunities presented themselves when it came time to buy so I settled for a 96' auto ti. My plan was that I would drive it for a year and then give it to my sister to drive. Well ive had the ti for about 3 months now and my plan is starting to look like it will not work. I just love my ti too much! I've found I love the hatchback body style because it stands out from the few other BMWs in the parking lot. My only problems with it are that its automatic, has too small of an engine for me ( I think id rather have a 2.5 or a 2.8), and it is one of the few BMWs Ive seen with cloth seats. My cloth is in pretty good conditions but I am always getting crap from my friends because I have a BMW with cloth. Id like to swap the cloth interior out for a tan leather M3 interior. Where would be a good place to buy a complete M3 interior in good condition? Are there any problems with instaling an M3 interior in a ti? Any advice would be appreciated. | | | 12-15-2005, 02:36 AM | #2 | doesn't care about you. Join Date: Aug 2004 Location: Denver, CO Posts: 3,925 | Again, see response to your other post. (Please correct me if I'm wrong) If you want to change the dash, I've heard that the sedan dash fits in perfectly, but I haven't seen it first hand... __________________ 97 Jet Black 318ti Sport. Any e36 front seat will fit. e36 dash fits but have heard it leaves a weird gap at the door bc you can't fit reg e36 door panels. __________________ My Former Rides 1999 318ti Alpine White, Cali Roof, Dinan goodies 1996 318ti Hellrot California Edition | | | 01-04-2006, 08:45 PM | #8 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2003 Location: Northern IL Posts: 263 | I actually just asked my mechanic, who is a TI expert, about transplanting the interior of an E36 M3 into my TI. Bad news is in order to install the dash and such, you would have to remove every piece of wiring and switch them from both cars, which would be pretty tough if you see how much wiring is involved in both cars. It can be done I guess, but you'd have to really want it. I have also seen the interior of an M roadster put into a TI, which looked pretty sweet. It belonged to a professional mechanic though that had alot of experience with interiors, and time on his hands. | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
