Is it like the m3 that has HK on the housing. You either got a basic stereo package or the 10 speaker package. If you have 2 speakers on your door panels, then you have the Alpine 10 speaker package. BTW, it's harman k ardon with an "A" | | | 05-13-2010, 04:05 AM | #3 | Member Join Date: Oct 2009 Location: LA,ca Posts: 42 | Would you happen to know if the 10 speaker setup .need a pre amp set up or normal output for a aftermarket head unit | | | 05-13-2010, 05:43 AM | #4 | NOBODY F's with the Jesus Join Date: Oct 2006 Location: Ventura California Posts: 7,824 | I honestly don't know off hand. I installed a blaupunkt deck and cd changer in mine and it worked fine. I've heard of other people having to bypass the factory amp. I guess it really depends if the aftermarket deck supports the factory amp. One thing i would suggest for sure though, buy a harness adapter/pigtail. They sell them on ebay for pretty cheap. I searched for one prior to installing my blaupunkt and when i couldn't find one I ended up cutting my factory harness and splicing wires. It works fine, but I wish I never did that. Shortly after I did, they started selling them on ebay. | | | 05-13-2010, 05:46 AM | #5 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2007 Location: norcal - 94590 Posts: 3,186 | The factory amp should be fine for any aftermarket head unit... Only if you are going to add a sub, would additional equipment be necessary... __________________ James 95 active w/leather interior and sport interior conversion, Vaders, full M-Tech exterior conversion.
